Textures and patterns in stones are undervalued in viewing stone appreciation. Many collectors place greater importance on shape, form, and color. This is unfortunate as the endless patterns and textures open new vistas in understanding stones and the message they convey to viewers. This may represent an abstract painting for some collectors, while others may be more engrossed with the geological forces that created this unusual Korean stone. It was recently displayed in a solo exhibition in Seoul earlier this year by its owner Dr. Shim SooBo. This stone was collected from the Namhangang River and is 23 x 25 x 15 cm.
