This Seta River mountain-shaped stone was displayed in the 2019 Japan Suiseki Exhibition held in the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum in Ueno Park February 14-17, 2019. This is a large completely natural stone that measures 55 cm wide, 20 cm high, and 27 cm deep. According to Morimae Siegi, director of the Japan Suiseki Association, this is the finest Seta River Suiseki in Japan. This masterpiece stone was given its name based on a resemblance to Mount Nantai, a natural mountain near Nikko, Japan. The exquisite base was made by master wood carver Hibino Ikkansai. It is privately owned and we are grateful to the owner for allowing us to feature this outstanding stone on this web site.
