This fine natural Ying stone on a beautifully crafted hand craved wood base is a prime example of a traditional Chinese viewing stone. I had the opportunity to meet with one of the more respected scholars of Chinese stones. He responded patiently and in detail to each of my list of questions I prepared prior to our meeting. He could quickly ascertain my level of knowledge about Chinese stones from my many questions. It was another very informative session for me. At the conclusion of our meeting, he presented me with this excellent Ying stone. As a result, I gave this stone the poetic name “Showing the Way” out of respect for my new teacher. A one-on-one session with an informed connoisseur amid his or her collection is the best way to learn.

This stone and base are 23 cm wide, 26.5 cm high and 10.5 cm deep (9 x 10.4 x 4.1 inches).
