The Meihinten has been held at the Meiji Shrine in Tokyo for several decades. Last year, NSA moved the exhibition to the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum to occur concurrently with the national display of bonsai (Kokufu-ten). This is the official catalog that documents each stone and display in this premier stone exposition. As in previous shows, there are several special exhibits followed by a series of Tokonoma displays featuring excellent suiseki. The next largest section is the General Exhibits dominated by Japanese stone collectors. The book concludes with 18 full-page images of stones entered from aboard. The photograph is superb.

This is an important catalog for anyone with a series interest inn learning more about modern Japanese susieki.
