"One Million Stone"

The waterfall in this small Japanese Furuya stone invites me to close my eyes and listen to the sound of the falling water. The daiza was carved many years ago by the well-known Furuya stone connoisseur Tanimoto. The writing on the accompanying storage box and poetic name are also attributed to Tanimoto. According to a seal on the bottom of the storage box, this stone was in the famous Japanese collector Sugi’s possession before becoming part of the late Sugo Minetaki’s collection. This stone became part of our collection in 2017. The stone is 8.7W x 8H x 6.3D cm and weighs 206 grams.
