Malachite ( 孔雀石) is a beautiful mineral and when occurring in mass formations is easily recognized. It occurs in many forms—ranging from grape-like clusters, stalactites, and even velvety fibrous masses that range in color from light to very dark green. It is a soft mineral that is easily chipped or broken. Many types of jewelry and stone sculptures are made from this mineral.
